Documenting a Day

Compare the functions of word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, and
database applications.

The function of a word processor is to write documents. The function of a spreadsheet
is to document numbers, charts, graphs and formulas. The function of a presentation
application is to create visual presentations. The function of a database application is
to keep track of data so that it can be easily recalled. Unfortunately, I don’t have
access to access at home and I am unable to use the application for school work while
I am at work.

Explain the advantages and disadvantages of each application.

The advantage of these applications is to make your task easier to complete and
manage. The disadvantage of each application is that you have to know how to use
them in order to benefit from the features. Every so often, the applications update and
you have to relearn how to do tasks.

Recommend the application software that was most appropriate for
documenting the information about your day.

The most appropriate application software for documenting my day was Microsoft
Word. I just needed a place to input text and it is perfect for that.

Describe at least one additional scenario where that application would be most
useful for each application type.

I can’t think of a scenario where Microsoft Word would be good for a presentation,
spreadsheets or holding data.
